A Sunday Catch Up

Hello you!

I'm in Bristol this weekend spending some much needed time with Harry - we haven't seen much of each other over the last month since he's finishing up his degree in Bristol and I've moved home to London. It feels like a nice calm before a busy couple weeks ahead. Being back in Bristol is a bit strange, but not as strange as I expected it to feel - I caught up with some of my comedy friends from the university sketch comedy society on the Friday too. You may or may not be able to tell from my hilarious manner than I did sketch comedy at university, along with some stand up - and while comedy might be on the back burner for now, it's something I'm trying to find my groove with in London. It's a lot harder to find a new groove for hobbies when you don't have university societies around every corner. This kilt is actually from Scotland when I was up there doing a sketch comedy show at the Edinburgh Fringe in August, because I'm authentic AF.

Some exciting things have gone on the last week! Obviously I'm back from the states, but I've just booked a trip to Paris in January with two of the ITF editors (aka some of my best mates). I haven't been to Paris in so long, so that's exciting - I can't wait to see Paris in the winter as I've only ever been in sweltering heat before. Please send all of the recommendations! I'll start brushing up on my French - the important stuff like, 'Where are the croissants? Give me croissants' and 'I need a large glass of wine, please'. I'm also pondering a trip to Marrakech in the next few months, as well as a very hygge Christmas in Copenhagen to see some family. That being said, I am so happy to be back on English soil for a couple months - I'm a homebody at heart, always have been. Nothing feels better than getting back into a routine. I basically didn't leave my room for two days when I got back because it felt so nice to be home - and also my room is my office.

Chances are you're reading this from bed (good!) because it's Sunday - so instead of rambling on here I thought I'd link some good bits for you to read instead. I usually do this article round up in the ITF Newsletter, but I thought I'd add some different ones here. As per usual, go read everything on Into The Fold because some stellar content went live last week.

  • I love Marian Keyes, so I loved this.
  • The Telegraph covered the story about decolonising the curriculum at Cambridge awfully this week, so it's nice to see other publications embracing the truth, like Dazed.
  • The Debrief ran a handy guide to paying off that student loan.
  • I love Luke Danes from Gilmore Girls, so this was great.
  • Gucci partnered with an Insta-artist for a collaboration, I loved the interview with that artist that Dazed ran.

Enjoy your Sunday!
