Ice, Ice Baby

ICEBERG A/W '14 // ph. Style.com, editing by me *self five*

Excuse the brilliant poor title pun, I couldn't help myself.
Iceberg seems a very fitting name for a brand who's best collection yet is in fact their winter one, probably not intentional but poignant nonetheless. I'd never heard of the label before but after trawling Style.com as one does when they're trying to avoid doing other work that's arguably more important than sartorial procrastination, I found this gem hidden among a multitude of other gems. I could have posted about Proenza, Kane or that Moschino show (although I'm still on the fence about foody fashion) but truth is you've probably heard it all by now, bought the t-shirt and thrown a party so I figured I'd share a collection that maybe didn't get the celebration it deserved.

You might be questioning why I was so drawn to this collection considering the lack of black, but in a sense that's what I like most about fashion week shows; it's one thing to find a collection that adheres to your personal style, it's another to find one that wants to make you push yourself out of your comfort zone. In a way, that to me is more impressive. Iceberg seemed to have coined bulky layering in a way that still remains sleek, sharp and tailored. Colour is in all the right places, weird neck muffs suddenly make so much sense and well, you all know how I feel about a good turtleneck. Of course there were looks I wouldn't buy into, as with all shows (if anyone says they'd wear every single look from a collection, there is 99% chance they're hyperbole-ing all over you) but on the whole, this is what I want A/W '14 to look like.
Possibly even S/S '14 if global warming pans out and London stays this cold.
