Oh the cliche

#teenvogue // SELFMADE dress, CHANEL bag, ACNE boots, FRENCH CONNECTION jacket, RAYBAN sunnies

I'll be honest with you, it took all my inner strength not to cliche the heck outta this and take a picture of my new babies (the boots people, the boots) on their box and post immediately writing things like 'I've found perfection' 'They feel like butter, but better, better than butter' or 'my existence is potentially more complete'.
While all the above may be true, it just seemed too much of a blogger cliche. So, instead, I decided to take my outfits pictures under a cherry blossom because that's never been done before right?
Originality is key people, key.
I've been asked quite a bit about this dress too, and I will eventually get around to posting some kind of tutorial (maybe) but all it is is a smock! All you really have to do is copy the pattern from a smock you might already own, I used a MinkPink one and made it a little longer. It's just the way I like my dresses: baggy, baggy and with tiny elephants on.
I'm off to the country for this weekend (I hate mud I hate cows I hate grass but I love the friend I'm visiting so you know, I shall cope) but I'll be back on Monday with a pretty special giveaway! (hint: you can win one of the items seen here) (hint: It's not the boots...sorry.)

when you made this dress did you do any pleats, tucks or darts to make the skirt go wider than the body part? if so, how? the smocks i make always fall down straight rather than sticking out like that! thanks xxx
