Patience is a virtue

Last night I had a few of my closest friends around to mine for a home cooked meal to celebrate my 16th (even though my actual birthday is not for a month). That in itself is unexciting for you guys, but I just wanted to share a picture of the Macarons that I almost died for. I say died in a primadonna kinda way, my life wasn't ever actually in danger. It basically took 12 hours, 3 batches and a whole lot of yelling to get these right. Needless to say, they tasted even better after all the patience (I say that loosely, throwing things isn't very patient...). I couldn't find the recipe online, but I used Anni Rigg's book 'Macarons'. I went a'huntin' and found this one online which looks just as good here.
